Shipping Clerk – 6 Month FTC

The Role
Natara is looking for a Shipping Clerk to support the accurate and timely delivery of
products to customers in the UK and overseas.

You will prepare shipping documentation, arrange collections and ensure shipments
comply with customs requirements and regulations governing the transportation of
dangerous and hazardous goods.

This is an office-based position at the Hartlepool site. Natara is open to either full-time
or part-time applicants, depending on the individual and their experience.

Key responsibilities
• Prepare the documentation required to ship aroma chemicals worldwide by air,
sea and road.
• Review customer order terms, including Incoterms, and ensure documentation
meets the customs requirements of each destination country.
• Prepare Dangerous Goods documentation and ensure shipments comply with
IATA, ADR and IMDG regulations.
• Book shipments and arrange collections with freight forwarders and courier
companies.
• Work closely with the packing and dispatch team to ensure goods and
documentation are ready for collection.
• Coordinate with customer service teams to support on-time delivery and
highlight issues that could cause delays.
• Provide shipment details and completed documentation to internal teams and
customers.
• Send complete document packs to customers to support customs clearance
and payment.
• Use courier systems, including DHL and FedEx, to prepare labels and arrange the
shipment of smaller packages and samples.
• Obtain and provide shipping costs and quotations.
• Complete additional export documentation where required, including
Certificates of Origin, EUR1, FDA and CargoX documentation.
• Arrange import clearance and onward delivery to UK sites when required.

Qualifications and Experience
• Previous experience in shipping, logistics, freight forwarding or import and export
administration.
• Knowledge of international shipping and customs documentation.
• Experience of handling shipments containing dangerous or hazardous goods.
• Training or working knowledge of IATA, ADR and IMDG regulations would be
highly advantageous.
• A good understanding of Incoterms and international customs requirements.
• Comfortable using IT systems, courier portals and standard office software.
