Logistics Team Lead

Natara Global is currently looking for a Logistics Team Lead to join our Supply Chain Team. General duties will include providing day-to-day leadership of the shipping department by providing advice and direction to the team to ensure a prompt and efficient shipping service for the Company in compliance with all transportation regulations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure regulatory Company compliance for import and export of goods.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives and identify inefficiencies and cost optimization opportunities.
  • Implement best practice logistics policies and procedures for the HPL & TSS sites to improve operational and financial performance.
  • Escalation to help resolve problems concerning the Shipping department.
  • Attend site meetings to drive improvement in OTIF.
  • Ensure complaints are processed in a timely manner.
  • Work as part of the Shipping team in completing necessary documentation and booking of orders.
  • Ensure metrics, reports, and process documentation are provided on time.
  • Assist the DGSA in mandatory collating and reporting of dangerous goods related matters.
  • Be the subject matter expert for shipping from HPL and TSS sites as and when required.
    Support Procurement in selection of carriers and monitor service against performance criteria.
  • Support implementation and assist in process mapping and training for any ERP enhancement for the Shipping department.
  • Responsible for the health & safety of the shipping department.
  • Work flexibly within the above guidelines and perform any other duties as may be required.
  • Manage, coach, and develop a high performing team that meets agreed objectives and delivers best practice results, added value and continuous improvements.
  • Set departmental objectives/KPIs and conduct regular review and assessment of performance of direct reports.
  • Report on the achievement of targets and identify any actions required.
  • Ensure workload is balanced and absence is adequately covered in the Shipping team.
  • Ensure the Shipping team are up to date with necessary legal and regulatory training requirements.
  • Ensure that all functions under supervision operate in accordance with health, safety and environmental policies and procedures to ensure the safety and wellbeing of staff and visitors.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Has proven shipping experience with hazardous chemicals
  • Evidence of effective time management
  • Transformational change management

Day shift, Monday to Friday
